May is Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month, which uplifts and honors the identities, experiences, histories and cultures of Asian Pacific Islander and Desi-identified individuals.
APIDA history is an important part of the American experience, and we encourage our community to celebrate and learn about the achievements, hardships and sacrifices of APIDA people that deserve to be explored. Please join us for this year’s APIDA Heritage Month Speaker Series, featuring virtual talks with WWU graduate Byron Yee on May 17 and author, screenwriter and producer Paula Yoo on May 18, as well as a panel of APIDA Washington state leaders on May 19.
The speaker series is hosted in partnership with the City of Bellingham, Bellingham Public Schools, Whatcom Community College, Bellingham Technical College, Northwest Indian College and Skagit Valley College.
