Mask Encouraged but Not Required – Western Washington University

Mask Encouraged but Not Required – Western Washington University
0Comments

With the removal of indoor masking requirements on campus on Monday, April 11, we want to acknowledge that some in our community may not be entirely comfortable with the change. While masking will no longer be required, we will still encourage mask-wearing indoors when possible as an act of courtesy and care for those in our community who are at higher risk or in close contact with those at higher risk of complications from COVID.

We also want to emphasize that masking is a personal choice, and each person has their own reasons for wearing or not wearing a mask. Please be respectful of the choices and needs of those around you.

Remember, masking is just one layer of protection that we can take to prevent the spread of COVID. Vaccinating and boosting, testing and monitoring for symptoms, staying home when sick, and washing hands frequently are all behaviors that can help keep our campus and community healthy.
