Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Skagit Valley College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Skagit Valley College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Washington residents paid $4,200 to attend the four-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 11.9 percent more than residents this year, or $4,700. Their price tag was unchanged from $4,700 in 2017-18.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Washington residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 62 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 264 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.6 million and 46 students took out student loans totaling more than $236,006.

Including all undergraduates (5,159), 1,637 students used grants or scholarships totaling $9.5 million, and 364 students took out $2.3 million in federal student loans.
