Community Conversations on September 2, 2022

Many of us are feeling the need to reconnect with our community after a time of isolation. Whether you enjoy discussing books, learning and sharing new skills, asking questions and giving advice, or sharing personal stories, there is something for you at North Fork's Community Conversation series. Discover what brings us together at the North Fork Library on Fridays 12:30-2pm in September-November. Come weekly, monthly, or whenever you can make it.

  • 1st Thursday of the Month: Share a Book
    • What books have you been reading? How have they inspired and engaged you? Would you recommend them? Connect with community members and share your feedback and thoughts
  • 2nd Thursday of the Month: Share your Story
    • We all have stories to share. Maybe you've recently found stores of resilience you didn't know you had. Perhaps you've pushed yourself to grow and learn in new ways. This is a chance to connect with your neighbors and explore your personal story in a themed, structured, and facilitated meeting space that gives everyone an opportunity to share their voice.
  • 3rd Thursday of the Month: Share a Skill
    • Have you learned a new skill recently? Do you have tips and tricks for gardening, knitting, baking, animal care, or just adulting that might benefit others? Connect with your community and share these skills and ideas in 5-10 minute lighting sessions.
  • 4th Thursday of the Month: Share a Question
    • Thinking of starting your own business? New to the area and hoping to make connections? Looking for home-schooling ideas and input? Bring your question and crowd-source advice from neighbors in a structured and facilitated meeting. (Uses Design Clinic Model)
