On Wednesday, January 4, Whatcom County will hold an event recognizing the renaming of the Crisis Stabilization Center, which is now called the Anne Deacon Center for Hope. The namesake served for many years as Human Services Manager for Whatcom County Health Department and was instrumental in working with community partners and state agencies to design, fund and open the center.

About the center: The Anne Deacon Center for Hope is a 32-bed treatment unit that provides mental health stabilization and detox stabilization for adults in Whatcom County and the North Sound Region. The center opened two years ago, replacing the old Whatcom County crisis stabilization center with expanded services and double the capacity of the previous facility. Services offered at the Anne Deacon Center for Hope are provided by Compass Health and Pioneer Human Services.
