The Western Washington University Track & Field program capped a successful two-day meet at the UW Invitational on Saturday at Dempsey Indoor.

The Vikings recorded a pair of school records and set 14 program top-10 marks in the two-day event held Friday and Saturday in Seattle.

Entering the meet ranked No. 3 (men) and No. 4 (women) in the West Region, the Vikings continue to make a name across the country running two of the fastest DMR times in Division II this season. On Friday, the men shattered the school record in 9:45.48 and the women recorded the second-fastest time in program history in 11:47.47.

Saturday's performances were headlined by Katie Potts breaking her own school record in the shot put with a throw of 12.83m/42-1.25 to place eighth out of 23 competitors.

After running a 4:01 split in the mile on the final leg of the record-setting DMR Friday night, Drew Weber turned in an impressive fifth-place finish in the 800m with the second-fastest time in program indoor history at 1:50.36. Weber's time was well below the NCAA provisional qualifying mark and ranks in the top five in the nation.

Brian Le ran the 400 in the DMR Friday and set an indoor PR with a time of 49.54 to rank sixth in WWU indoor history. Another member of the DMR record-setting squad, Will Henry, set a PR in the mile running 4:10.17 to move up to No. 4 in program history.

Nolan Mickenham just missed a top-10 time in the 200m Friday, but inches his way into the WWU record book in the 60m Saturday placing 11th in 7.01 seconds.

Anna Miller recorded a pair of impressive finishes in the 200m and 400m, placing 17th in both events while narrowly missing the WWU top-10 list in both events.

The Vikings will take next week off and return to action February 10-11 at the two-day Husky Classic at Dempsey Indoor. The 2023 GNAC Indoor Track & Field Championships will follow February 20-21 at The Podium in Spokane.
