Whatcom County area businesses can now have access to COVID-19 testing services through the Northwest Laboratory.
According to the Northwest Laboratory website, businesses can contact the clinical lab to request testing for their employees. Employees are able to schedule an appointment online at a Bellingham drive-thru collection site.
“COVID-19 presents challenges to employers and the safety of their employees,” the NWL website states. “Timely COVID-19 testing is a critical part of maintaining a safe and productive work environment.”
Don Goldberg, director of the Regional Economic Partnership (REP) at the Port of Bellingham, said protecting the health of the community is everyone’s top priority as the economy starts to reopen.
“Building a strong and sustainable economy is absolutely dependent on our business community taking proactive steps to prevent a spike in COVID infections, including making testing widely available and accessible to all,” Goldberg said in a press release posted on the Port of Bellingham website.
