Plans for a large warehouse near Skagit Regional Airport are being tied to Seattle-based e-commerce giant Amazon.
There are two references to Amazon made to Amazon in public documents, goskagit.com reported. Despite the references, no one has stepped forward to confirm whether Amazon is opening a warehouse at the property just west of Burlington. Both documents refer to a sign for the company. Documents indicate Dermody Properties, a real estate development firm based out of Nevada is involved in the project. The firm has been involved projects for companies like Amazon.
Goskagit.com also reported the specs of the warehouse, lending to the possibility of an Amazon facility. The proposed 111,300-square foot building will have 980 parking spaces including 562 van spaces and 217 associates. It will be built on 24.5 acres. Laura Han, spokesperson for Skagit County said all required permits have been approved.
“We also heard that this is being built as an Amazon facility, but that we don’t have any documentation to confirm that and the final end user remains uncertain on our end,” Han said, goskagit.com reported.
