Two Washington doctors have been hand-picked by the governor to represent the state in the COVID Vaccine Scientific Safety Review Workgroup, a collaborative partnership with California, Oregon, and Nevada.
Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) selected Dr. Ed Marcuse and Dr. John Dunn, according to a state-issued press release.
Marcuse currently works as an emeritus professor of pediatrics at the University of Washington. He had been a member and chair of he U.s National Vaccine Advisory Committee, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice, and the Food and Drug Administration's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee. He received his masters in public health from the University of Washington.
Dunn works at Kaiser Permanente Washington as the medical director of preventive care and clinical lead for immunization population. He's also a member of the Health and Human Services National Vaccine Advisory Committee. He received his master of public health from Harvard University School of Public Health.
