Rick Larsen, a U.S. Congressman representing Washington’s 2nd district, has taken to social media to express his concerns on several issues. In a series of tweets, he addresses the necessity for disaster relief funding, accountability in disaster aid distribution, and support for the transgender community.

On November 19, 2024, Rep. Rick Larsen emphasized the urgency of passing a disaster supplemental bill. He stated that without this funding, federal agencies such as FEMA and SBA would be unable to fulfill their missions or assist disaster survivors. He encouraged people to tune into a hearing by the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee regarding efforts to secure this critical funding. "Congress must immediately pass a disaster supplemental. Without funding, federal agencies like @fema & @SBAgov cannot fulfill their missions & help disaster survivors."

Later that day, on November 19, 2024, Larsen addressed the issue of politicization in disaster aid distribution. He asserted that it is up to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to hold accountable anyone who attempts to politicize this process—from FEMA crew leaders to high-level officials like the president-elect or president."It's up to the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee to hold anyone accountable who seeks to politicize disaster aid - from a crew leader at FEMA to the president-elect or president."

On November 20, 2024, Rep. Larsen took part in Transgender Day of Remembrance by honoring victims of anti-trans violence and bigotry. He expressed his continued support for Washington's transgender community and pledged backing for legislation ensuring equal treatment under law for all Americans."On #TransDayOfRemembrance, join me in remembering the victims of anti-trans violence, hate & bigotry."
